Scope and responsibility#

Nuits, the Finnish sole proprietorship operated by Bapusaheb Patil, is responsible for Quire's operator-controlled marketing, documentation and browser-demo interfaces. Contact legal@quirelms.com for accessibility feedback or assistance. Institutions remain responsible for their own course materials, services, accommodations and accessibility notices; using Quire does not transfer those duties to us.

This statement covers quirelms.com, www.quirelms.com, docs.quirelms.com and demo.quirelms.com, and describes our approach to the software supplied for customer deployments. The current service is pre-release. It is not a declaration that every page, language, module or third-party integration has passed a formal accessibility audit.

Approach and current status#

Our design objective is usable keyboard interaction, meaningful structure and labels, perceivable information, and compatibility with browser accessibility features and assistive technologies. We use WCAG 2.2 Level AA as a target for product improvement, not as a completed conformance finding. The application includes settings for font scaling, a dyslexia-oriented font, reduced motion and high contrast where supported. Theme or preference controls do not establish conformance by themselves and are not medical recommendations.

There is no completed independent accessibility conformance report or certified VPAT for the current release. We therefore do not assign a fully conformant, partially conformant or non-conformant WCAG status based on an assessment that has not occurred. The Accessibility Conformance Information explains this evidence boundary for procurement.

Areas that require attention#

  • Rich editors, collaborative documents, interactive assessment formats, diagrams and drag/drop interactions need evaluation in the particular workflow and assistive technology used. Their presence is not assurance of an equivalent keyboard or screen-reader experience.
  • PDFs, slides, media, uploaded files and course content are authored by their respective owners. Captions, transcripts, text alternatives, document structure and accessible assessment alternatives depend on that content and must be supplied when needed.
  • External learning tools, embedded packages, sign-in providers, meetings and other integrations can introduce barriers outside the operator-controlled interface. Each actual integration needs its own evaluation and an alternative where required.
  • Localised content, right-to-left layouts, zoom/reflow, colour/contrast and mobile interfaces require deployment-specific checks. Available translations and preference settings are not proof of equivalent accessibility in every language.
  • The browser demo depends on JavaScript, local browser storage and modern browser capabilities. Some service functions will not operate with those capabilities disabled. Offline access and the demo do not guarantee compatibility with every browser or assistive technology.

These are assessment and content dependencies, not invented test results about a specific failure. We do not publish an exhaustive known-barrier list or claim that unlisted features are free of barriers.

Reporting a barrier and requesting help#

Email legal@quirelms.com with the page or task, what prevented you from completing it, and the alternative format or assistance you need. If comfortable, include your browser, device and assistive technology; those details are optional. Do not include medical evidence, passwords or other people's student data. A screenshot or short description may help, but is not required.

We will acknowledge the report, investigate the part we control and discuss a practical alternative or remedy. This statement does not set a fixed remediation deadline or promise a solution without assessing the barrier. You may request the information in a more usable format by email while we investigate. If the obstacle is in an institution's material or third-party service, we will explain that boundary and help direct the report; the institution remains responsible for its accommodations and applicable deadlines.

Complaints and procurement#

You may use any accessibility complaint or enforcement mechanism available under the law applicable to the responsible service. The applicable authority and obligations depend on the service, institution and jurisdiction; this page does not assert that every customer or current pre-release website has the same statutory status. Ask us to identify the operator-side complaint route relevant to your situation; institutions must identify their own route in their notice. Contacting us does not waive a legal remedy.

Before relying on Quire for a regulated procurement or critical assessment workflow, request the applicable release and scope information and evaluate the deployment, content and integrations you intend to use. An individual accommodation, a product design target or this statement is not a certification or a contractual warranty of universal accessibility.
